Professional gatherings

TWO DAYS TO GET INSPIRED, BE STIMULATED AND MEET UP

Artistic creation in the field of digital arts and new technologies plays a major part in the making of cities and their appeal. Following on from Territoires Sensibles (February 2017), we organize an unprecedented gathering for professionals of art, culture, tourism and economical actors to work, share and get inspired.

For this edition honouring Quebec, Chroniques will present:

• Roundtables about the narration of the territory and of creative cities
• The International Digital Arts Market (MIAN)
• A cabinet of wonders, immersive and VR artworks/ and experiences

The professional gatherings are organized as part of the European program Future Divercities. It is coproduced with Elektra, the International Marketplace for Digital Art, the AMI with the support of Fondation de France, thecamp, ESCAET, and the Fonds Franco-Québecois pour la Coopération Décentralisée (FFQCD). Smartcity, creative economy, e-tourism, uberisation, the city is the object of all experiments. For two hours, we will wonder who are today’s makers of the city? Its planners? The digital economy? The major cultural infrastructures and events? What place is there for political and community issues? How do our representatives imagine the territory’s development?

Crossing, experiencing, discovering the city

Friday, November 9th

From 11H15 to 12H45

At thecamp

What is it to be a tourist today? And what are the prospects? Capital cities, metropolises, cities around the world dream of being giant amusement parks. One must consider the territory’s development, finance the rehabilitation of the local heritage, create sports and cultural events, develop prospective logics. How do local representatives, cultural and touristic operators and actors of the economy collaborate and create conditions for a sustainable and lasting touristic strategy?

Educational structures, business incubators and accelerators, living lab, R&D, but where is innovation born?

Friday, November 9th

From 9H30 to 11H

At thecamp

Would the Silicon Valley and its influence on today’s world have been the same without the influence of Stanford and Berkeley Universities and of the MIT?

In France, it was the Vincennes experimental university center, created during fall 1968, that gave energy to the French intellectual circles. But we could also mention Paris Saclay, the 42 School or thecamp as well as Hexagram, Milieux and Lantis in Quebec.

In educational but also experimentation places such as Livinglab and various others labs, the Friches, third places, economical development places such as incubators, innovation is today’s promise. But how do artists fit in all that?
